KOHAT: Over 20 refusal cases of polio vaccination that surfaced in Togh Bala town here were addressed on Thursday.
Deputy commissioner Abdur Rehman after getting the report sent additional assistant commissioner Mohammad Iqbal to address them. In this regard, the parents along with their children were brought to the basic health centre where polio drops were administered to the children.
Mr Iqbal asked the polio teams to keep close contact with the elected persons, elders and ulema to make the vaccination campaign successful by reporting the refusal cases to the administration.
Meanwhile, Mr Iqbal raided an illegal slaughterhouse operating in Togh Bala and arrested four people.
IGP REVIEWS LAW AND ORDER: Inspector General of Police, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dr Sanaullah Abbasi said here on Thursday that nobody would be allowed to sabotage peace achieved after huge sacrifices.
Addressing a high-level meeting here, he said Kohat region was sensitive and the police, army, scouts and elders should leave no stone unturned to protect the life and property of the people. He said restoration of peace was the first priority of police.
He said the enemy was trying to spread instability through sectarianism and foiling it was the joint responsibility of the public and state agencies.
DPO Javed Iqbal and DIG, Kohat division, Tayyab Hafeez Cheema also attended the meeting. He said the police administration should keep a close liaison with the elders of Shia and Sunni communities to normalise the tense situation.
He also went to Orakzai district on a maiden visit where elders and army officials welcomed him on the occasion of inauguration of the district police office.
