ISLAMABAD Jan 19: PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto has called a joint meeting of party central executive and federal council in Islamabad on Sunday to review and advice her on what she called overt and covert steps of the military government to oust her from the party leadership and subsequently from becoming the future head of the government.

Makhdoom Amin Faheem, party’s senior vice chairman, will preside over the meeting and it will be attended by the party leaders from all over the country.

The meeting will also decide a date for the return of the party chairperson as she had decided to return home to face all odds, much before the start of the electioneering for the October polls, party sources said.

The sources said that the senior party leaders had been told by the government that MS Bhutto’s return as the party leader would not be allowed.

The chairperson had asked other top leaders of the party to discuss the possibility of entering into alliance with other political parties and also a way out in case she was rendered unable to lead the party directly, the sources said.
