PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has directed the quarters concerned to ensure completion of the under-construction building of Bacha Khan Medical College and the project for standardisation of district headquarters hospital, Mardan, within the current financial year.
He was chairing a meeting regarding development schemes in Mardan district here at the CM Secretariat. It was attended by CM’s special assistant Riaz Khan, MPAs Iftikhar Mashwani, Shaukat Ali, Abdus Salam and Ameer Farzand and administrative secretaries of the relevant departments.
The chief minister said that the government would provide better health facilities to the people and all under-construction buildings would be made functional for the purpose. He ordered the authorities to ensure completion of all the ongoing development projects in the present financial year so that the people could be facilitated.
The meeting was briefed about the progress so far made on different development schemes. It was stated that Bacha Khan Medical College was already functional while construction work on permanent building for it was in the final stages.
The chief minister ordered the authorities concerned to provide all required resources for timely completion of the said building.
The participants were told that 63 per cent work on the under-construction children hospital, Mardan, had been completed and same was the case with upgradation work of the DHQ hospital while the remaining work would be completed in current financial year.
Mahmood Khan stated that completion of ongoing projects in health sector at the divisional and district levels would ensure provision of quality health facilities to the people at local level which was among top priorities of the government.
He said that the government was spending huge resources on health projects and the results should be visible to the public.
