SAHIWAL: A deaf-mute girl was raped by a youngster at 65A/GD village, Noor Shah, on Tuesday.

‘M’, 24, was with her younger brother at home when their parents had gone out for labour. A neighbour came to their house and allegedly raped the girl and fled. Her parents said the girl was deaf-mute and she raised hue and cry but no one could help her.

Police registered a case against the suspect.

GANG: The Pakpattan Saddar police claim to have arrested four members, including ringleader, of a gang with arms and ammunition.

The gangsters led by Latif, a handicapped person, committed bank robberies.

Saddar SHO Rai Khizer said the gang confessed to committing two bank robberies.

DSP Muhammad Ikram Khan told Dawn that the ringleader was on wheelchair and he would transport rifles and pistols to other members of the gang. He said Latif was wanted by the police in Okara and Pakpattan.

The others are Shahid, Wajid and Rahma.
