TURBAT: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani on Thursday inaugurated phase-II of the Turbat City Development Project, to be completed at a cost of Rs2.85 billion.
Giving a briefing on the project, Makran division’s Commissioner Tariq Qamar Baloch said that Rs500 million was released by the provincial government, while Rs440m had already been utilised on road construction and other development works of the project.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said the provincial government through a comprehensive plan and strategy had initiated different development projects across Balochistan for equal development of the province.
“We have been striving hard to bring Balochistan at a par with other provinces,” he said.
Mr Alyani said the Turbat City Development Project’s phase-II was a very wide-ranging programme for the development and progress of the city.
“With the completion of phase-II, Turbat will become a new and well-built modern city,” he said.
The chief minister said that special attention had been given to the construction of roads and beautification of the city. Under Phase-II new projects of health, education, water supply and other necessities of life would be started along with the construction of road extension projects, he added.
