ISLAMABAD: The capital police have arrested three persons for their alleged involvement in a murder of a 12-year-old girl, who was found hanged in her house, located in a slum near Bari Imam on Sept 23, police said.

The girl was at home on the day with her two siblings when her parents left for work.

Later, the elder daughter of the couple also left to get food for the family from Bari Imam Shrine leaving behind the girl and a minor brother, the police said, adding when the girl’s father returned he found the house locked from outside and the girl hanged.

The father got a murder case registered with the Secretariat Police.

Two teams of the police – Homicide Unit of the City Circle and CIA – investigated the case and succeeded in tracing and arresting the three persons.

They were arrested in response of human intelligence as some people saw them around the house at the time of murder and informed the investigators during investigation.

Besides, geo-fencing of the area also revealed their presence in the area at the time of the incident, they said, adding that during interrogation they confessed to having killed the girl.

They told the police that they had come to buy a domestic chicken from the family. They offered some amount to the girl, but she refused to give the chicken to them on that amount.

One of them, who had criminal record, overpowered the girl and tried to molest her, but she started shouting for help.

They chocked her mouth with hand which resulted into her death.

In a bid to hide their crime they hanged the girl from the ceiling to show that she had committed suicide and fled.
