LAHORE: While the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has announced to hold the national championship in November and revive the tray championship in October, it is yet to decide about the venues of both the events.

According to a PHF announcement, the 66th National Senior Hockey Championship will be played from Nov 3 to 15, the venue of which will be intimated shortly.

In accordance with the team positions of the 65th National Senior Hockey Championship, the eight teams have qualified for the 66th edition include NBP, SSGC, Wapda, Pakistan Army, PIA, Pakistan Navy, Port Qasim and Pakistan Police.

“Moreover, previously the Tray Hockey Championship was the most beneficial and regular event of the PHF calendar of activities, which had been at a standstill from 2015 till to-date. Keeping in view the benefits of this championship, the PHF intends to reactivate the Tray Championship,” added the PHF announcement.

“The PHF has decided to organise the Tray Championship in a befitting manner from Oct 20 to 31, 2020 [venue will be intimated, shortly],” it further said.

The following teams are eligible to participate in the Tray Championship, from which top three teams will qualify for the 66th National Senior Championship:

PAF, Mari Petroleum, Pakistan Railways, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Balochistan, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, AJK, Pakistan Customs, PTV, POF, SNGPL, HEC, ZTBL, Fauji Foundation and Pakistan Steel Mills.
