SWABI: The district administration on Friday sealed a gur ghani (raw sugar factory) for producing substandard jaggery and arrested two employees, officials said.
Razaar tehsil assistant commissioner Sana Hafeez accompanied by the district food inspector raided the factory in Ismalia village and found that the gur making process was not according to the standards.
An FIR was registered against the factory’s owner and employees in the Kalu Khan police station.
BIKE THIEVES HELD: The police on Friday arrested a gang of bike thieves hailing from Razaar tehsil and recovered six motorcycles and spare parts of vehicles.
Briefing mediapersons, DSP Razaar Shaukat Ali said the police initiated the action after registering cases against the unidentified thieves on public complaints.
Meanwhile, the police arrested 19 miscreants and recovered a rifle and a Kalakov, four pistols and several rounds during an action in Zaida areas on Friday.
Also, unknown attackers shot dead a man in Pajpir village on Friday.
The deceased identified as Abu Bakr was on way home when he was targeted.
An FIR was registered in the Swabi city police station.
Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child died after being struck by a speeding vehicle in Gabgani village on Friday.
The child was crossing the Gabgani-Utla Road.
An FIR was registered against the vehicle’s driver.
