Over the past five days, 4.32 per cent people, who were tested for the novel coronavirus, turned out positive in Karachi, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said.
The positivity rate in Hyderabad during the same period was 3.24pc, while in other cities in Sindh, 1.73pc people, who were tested for the virus, turned out to be positive.
The figures come a day after Planning Minister Asad Umar revealed that the country's Covid-19 positivity rate had risen above 2pc after a six-week average of less than 2pc. He added that mini smart lockdowns had been imposed in Karachi, Islamabad and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
