Sesame Street to air anti-racism segment

Sesame Workshop, the non-profit educational organisation behind Sesame Street will air an anti-racism special called The Power of We on HBO Max and the PBS 24/7 streaming channel.

The special stars famous Sesame Street Muppets Elmo and Abby Cadabby, joined by six-year-old Muppet Gabrielle and her cousin, eight-year-old Muppet Tamir. The Muppets learn how to stand up against unfair treatment based on skin — or fur — colour.

Thecast is joined by human Sesame Street actors alongside guests like actor Yara Shahidi, actor Christopher Jackson, and singer Andra Day. The special aims to educate children and families on racism.


Sigourney Weaver films Avatar 2

picture, Weaver is performing an underwater stunt and the other shows the actress giving two thumbs up while filming a CGI scene.

“From the set of the Avatar sequels: Sigourney Weaver never shies away from a stunt, not even when it’s underwater!” the caption reads.

The Avatar cast and crew started production on the sequels in New Zealand in June. There are four planned sequels to the original 2009 film, directed by James Cameron. Cameron will return to helm the sequels.

Disney delayed the release of the sequels in July. Avatar 2 will now open in theatres in December 2022.


The Witches first trailer

Anne Hathaway is a diabolical witch in the first trailer for HBO Max’s upcoming adaptation of Roald Dahl’s The Witches.

The trailer begins with a young boy (Jahzir Kadeen Bruno) who comes into the care of his grandmother, portrayed by Octavia Spencer. He then stumbles upon a secret coven of witches, led by Hathaway, who want to turn the world’s children into mice. The young boy is turned into a mouse and must find a way to reverse the spell and stop the witches.

The Witches will come to HBO Max on October 22 and in theatres internationally on October 28.

Stanley Tucci, Kristin Chenoweth and Chris Rock as the narrator also star.
