RAWALPINDI, Sept 27: The mother and wife of an employee of Sihala Police College were slaughtered by some people in their house in Dhoke Chaudhrian in the jurisdiction of RA Bazaar police on Tuesday, police said.

The incident came to light when Nazeer Omer, an accountant in the police college, sent an orderly to his house to deliver some money to his wife. When the orderly reached Mr Omer’s house, he repeatedly knocked at the door but got no response.

When he broke open into the house along with some neighbours, he found two women, Shehla Omer, the wife of Mr Omer, and Perveen Akhtar, 65, the mother, lying on the floor in a pool of blood with their throats slit and hands and feet tied up. Nothing was found missing from the house.

When ASP Cantonment Rizwan Manzoor was contacted, he said the hands and feet of Mr Omer’s wife were tied and a length of rope had been twisted around her neck. A kitchen knife was found pierced into the neck of Mr Omer’s mother.

The ASP said it seemed that both the women were strangulated before being slaughtered. Both the women were alone at home, while the three children were in school when the incident took place. The complainant told the police that he had no enmity with anybody.
