PNF Academy lift women’s netball title

KARACHI: The PNF Netball Academy beat Karachi Netball Academy 10-5 to win the Pink Sports Day Women’s Netball Tournament here recently.

The event was jointly organised by Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF), MNA Saima Nadeem, Parliamentary Secretary, Inter-provincial Coordination (IPC) in collaboration with IBA Karachi at IBA Karachi and organised in view of the Cancer Awareness Campaign.

Teams of PNF Academy, Sindh Netball Academy, Karachi Netball Academy and Elite Netball Academy participated in the tournament, which was inaugurated by IPC Secretary Saima Nadeem who said that women athletes should take part in such campaigns and spread this message to every corner of the society.

Later Reema Ismail, wife of Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, distributed the prizes, trophies, certificates and awards among the players. In her speech, she said that the event should raise awareness of breast cancer in Sindh.

All-Star Player awards were also given to seven players — Roqiya Modi, Nisha Sultan, Hamna Mudassar, Yamana Sultani, Iqra Shafiq, Momal Khurshid and Ayman Rehman.
