PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Tuesday ordered the suspension of all staff members of the Kohat Development Authority police station and order an inquiry against them over failure to address a resident’s issue.

He issued orders during a visit to the Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell, where he listened to the people’s complaints through live calls and issued directives for their immediate resolution.

On the complaint of a Kohat resident, the chief minister suspended the KDA police station’s entire staff and ordered an inquiry against them for ignoring his issue.On the complaint of a resident of Mohmand tribal district, he ordered the relevant authorities to release land compensation to him without delay.

The officials briefed the chief minister about the performance of the complaint cell and said around 6,000 calls had been received from across the province and more than 1,500 of them were from tribal districts.

They said of the total 1,200 registered complaints, around 800 had been addressed and the resolution of 150 was in process.

The officials said the complaint resolution percentage was 80.

The chief minister said the complaint cell was linked with the Prime Minister’s Citizen Portal and provincial Performance Management Reforms Unit and therefore, it was producing positive results.

He said the cell would be strengthened in light of the people’s suggestions.

Mr Mahmood said he would visit the complaint cell once a month to listen to the people’s complaints live to ensure their speedy resolution.

He also promised the frequent visit of his ministers to the facility for the purpose.
