ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa on Friday appreciated an accomplished British-American mountaineer Vanessa O’Brien for promoting Pakistan as goodwill ambassador.

The renowned mountain climber met Army Chief who appreciated her for her achievements and promoting Pakistan.

“Ms Vanessa O’Brien met #COAS. She is the only woman ever to climb 2 the world’s highest pt Mount Everest & dive 2 world’s deepest pt Challenger Deep, also carrying Pak flag. COAS appreciated her achievements & thanked her 4 promoting Pak as a goodwill ambassador,” read a tweet of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Meanwhile, according to ISPR’s another tweet, Army Chief also expressed heartfelt grief on passing away of hockey legend Abdul Rasheed Junior.

“Pak has lost an iconic sportsman & a great human being. May Allah bless his soul & give strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss, Ameen,” he said.
