MITHI: Two women committed suicide in different villages in Thar on Sunday while a teenage girl died trying to stop her aunt from taking her life.

A woman identified as Shariat Pali jumped into a well in Kamharar Pali village near Chhachhro town late in the night and her 14-year-old niece Razia Pali accidentally fell after her while trying to stop her from ending her life. Both died instantly.

Villagers took out the bodies after hectic efforts and told journalists that Shariat suffered from serious mental disorder.

Police did not lodge any FIR of the incident.

In another incident, 22-year-old Geeta Kumari Suthar committed suicide in Khehnroi village near Dilpo town. Her body was found hanging from the roof in her house.

The woman’s relatives said that she had some mental issues but her brothers Chhagan and Karoo Suthar alleged that their sister was murdered by her husband and in-laws. They demanded Thar SSP Hassan Sardar Niazi order a probe into the incident and serve them justice.

The body was taken to nearby hospital for post-mortem examination and was later handed over to heirs.
