This is a positive news. Although the efficiency and business case of KCR will not be completely realized until the loop is fully restored, it is nevertheless useful to keep as much of the track in running condition as possible. Whenever the service gets stopped, that is when land mafia and encroachers get chance to prey on the infrastructure.

Karachi badly need KCR and a modern transport system, the outdated public transport is creating public health and environmental issues and is not sufficient for the growing population of the city.

Why Rs. 50, Orange Train is Rs 40 and much fast and tracks are new; while Metro Bus rates are much lower; always a differential treatment with Karachi

The railways should make sure that the time table is followed up properly, as many people will use it for job & business purpose. Further, issue monthly, quarterly, bi-annually & annually passes at fair rates. City buses should match the railway timing so that the people can reach the station in time. Take strict actions against the ticket defaulters by making the ticket checking procedure strict. Bring improvement in the services. Online network companies should get involved in profit making.

"A uniform fare of Rs50 per travel has been fixed." The fare in Lahore and Islamabad is much lower and with luxurious imported AC trains and buses. What is cheaper in up country compared to Karachi? Labor cost, fuel, custom duty, financial cost? Can someone explain? Or is it just another way of saying "forget it" and stick to Chingchi and W11, good things are for Punjab? PM from Karachi, right?

KCR is a federal government initiative and the tracks within Karachi should be cleared as soon as possible so that people who cannot afford to commute in private transportation due to exorbitant fares should avail the facility of KCR in the shortest possible time and in the absence of government owned buses.
The increase in public and private transport fares are much higer comparing to the ratio and proportion of monthly wages of a common man in Karachi when inflation has gone sky high.

Time for these gas guzzler circular trains is gone. You need trains to replace busses and cars, running on the same route. You need overhead or underground trains running every 30 min in the day time and every hour at night all around Karachi.

No. I believe at least 2 rakes will be used to begin with. 1 in Up direction and 1 in down direction. Both doing 2 return trips a day. 4 departures a day from either terminals.
