KARACHI: Benazir Bhutto Shaheed XI beat Mariam Mukhtar Shaeed XI 35-31 to win the Allama Iqbal Day Festival Basketball match here at the Arambagh0-Abdul Nasir courts on Tuesday.

Laiba Tabrez (12 pts), Sunbul Zehra and Isabella Christopher scored 10 points each for the winners while for the losing side, Samra Iqbal (10 pts), Sarah Sadiq (9pts) and Ammara Siddiqui (8 points) were the main scorers.

In the end, chief guest Tehmina Asif, member POA environment commission distributed the prizes and praised the organisers for arranging the festival match as tribute to great thinker, poet and visionary Allama Iqbal. She added that POA leadership is working hard to improve the sports standards in the country.

Meanwhile DC Korangi and Administrator Sheharyar Gul Memon will address a press conference in his office on Thursday regarding the Korangi Sports Festival.
