MUZAFFARABAD: Three people died while 38 others were injured in an accident as a minibus they were travelling in, plunged into a gorge in Poonch district on Thursday.

According to police, some of the injured are in critical condition. A coaster bus with 31 persons on board was on its way to Kotli when the driver lost control at a curve on the road and fell into the gorge near Baila Chanair village, 7kms away from Hajira, police officer Ali Hussain said.

Three passengers died on the spot, he said, adding, the driver along with 27 passengers were injured and referred to different hospitals; at least five of them are critically injured.

The deceased were identified as Taseer Bibi, Zakariya Mehtab - student at IIUI - and Afzal Mehboob, residents of Hajira.
