LARKANA: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s parliamentary leader in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh has said the role of Child Protection Authority and Women Protection Cell is nowhere to be seen in the Kashmore child-rape incident and demanded eliminating the entire despicable gang of human traffickers.
Sheikh said at a press conference at Insaf House here on Saturday that according to the arrested suspect Khairullah Bugti’s confession, the main suspect Rafiq Malik was not a lone wolf but a large gang was operating in the area, said a press release issued by the party’s media coordinator.
He said that he and his party saluted the brave ASI who offered his wife and daughter to help arrest the suspects.
Hitting out at Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari’s statements on his election trail in Gilgit-Baltistan, he said that Bilawal was vowing to turn Gilgit into another Larkana, the Bhuttos’ hometown where majority of residents were compelled to drink highly contaminated water, AIDS was spreading uncontrollably and medicines were being stolen from government hospitals. Even the child rape victim had to be shifted to Karachi due to lack of healthcare facilities in Larkana, he added.
He said the PTI government and Pak army were on the same page and together they would foil all conspiracies against integrity of the country. The foreign minister and ISPR director general’s press conference had laid bare the facts before the world that India was spending billions of rupees on separatist outfits inside Pakistan, he said.
He said the country stood tall and strong despite all nefarious conspiracies being hatched by anti-Pakistan elements. In past, governments and army used to have difference of opinion on important issues of national security but now they were on the same page.
He said the previous governments of Nawaz Sharif and Zardari were beset with scandals. The Pakistan Democratic Movement’s aim appeared to be to weaken the country and it seemed most of the parties in the “Papa, Daddy bachao Movement” had been hired to rouse sentiments of people against the government of Imran Khan and Pak army.
He said that many patriot politicians who did not subscribe to the anti-army narrative of Nawaz Sharif had already quit the PML-N. Sharif and his family had desecrated the very principles Quaid-i-Azam had stood for and Nawaz Sharif had degenerated into another Altaf Hussain.
He said the nation should hold all the people accountable who had looted public money. According to a survey, 92 per cent people were satisfied with the leadership of Imran Khan, who had sacked almost all corrupt officers and whose assets had decreased, unlike past rulers, during last two years of his premiership, he added.
Sheikh said the real “Zionist agents” were Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Nawaz Sharif, who were hell bent on weakening the country through their highly divisive and incendiary politics.
He congratulated members of Hindu community on the occasion of their annual festival, Diwali, and paid a visit to Sheikh Zayed Children’s Hospital where patients and their attendants complained to him about lack of facilities in the hospital.
Later, the PTI leader went to Miro Khan to offer condolence to local PTI leaders Sabir Hussain Shah and Maroof Tunio on the death of their relatives and sympathised with heirs of victims who were killed in firing by a gang of dacoits at Sher Dil Brohi village.
