HYDERABAD, Sept 30: An agriculturist of the Haji Darya Khan Mari village, Chambar taluka in Tando Allahyar district, Mohammad Yousuf Mari, has sought protection from the authorities against the excesses of police, order the arrest of police officers against whom FIR has been registered and ensure the recovery of two kidnapped haris.

He was speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Friday.

He alleged that on May 29, 2005, a former SHO of the Missan police station, Ali Bux Shar, sub-inspector Abdul Sattar Rind and five other policemen barged into his Autaq and kidnapped six persons, including three relatives namely Manak Khan, Badal and Dur Mohammad and three haris Qasim Khoso, Umeedo Kolhi and Bhalu Kolhi at gunpoint.

He said after two days, he approached Ali Bux Shar but he refused to release his relatives and haris without payment of bribe.

He said he had submitted an application to the district and sessions judge and the director of human rights, Hyderabad, under whose orders raid commissioner Mohammad Usman Burdi raided the Missan police station and found four kidnapped persons at the police station without any entry and record. He said they were later ordered to be released.

He, however, said that two haris Umeedo Kolhi and Bhalu Kolhi could not be found in the police station. He said he again approached the district and sessions judge of Hyderabad, who sent his application to the seventh additional sessions judge.

Mr Yousuf said that the learned judge on September 21, directed the SHO of Tando Allahyar to register an FIR against the involved police officers. He said the SHO registered an FIR at the Missan police station against Ali Bux Shar, SI Abdul Sattar Rind and five other policemen vide crime No. 18/2005.

He said following the registration of the FIR, he is being threatened with dire consequences by Ali Bux Shar and his companions. He feared that his two haris might have been killed and appealed to the authorities to order the arrest of the accused, provide him protection and ensure the recovery of two haris.
