ISLAMABAD: The capital administration on Tuesday asked the administration of Adiala jail in Rawalpindi to immediately release all detained activists and leaders of Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).
The release of the leaders and activists was part of an agreement reached by leaders of the TLP and the government on Monday night after which the religious outfit ended its protest in the capital.
The office of Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Mohammad Hamza Shafqaat stated that the order issued under Section 3 of West Pakistan Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) 1960 between from Nov 12 and Nov 14 in respect of persons belonging to the TLP is withdrawn with immediate effect.
The release order carried the names of 77 people arrested by the capital police, including Shahzad Town, Khanna, Loi Bher, Nilore, Sihala, I-9, Shams Colony, Ramna, Koral, Kohsar, Banigala, Bhara Kahu, Sabzi Mandi, Tarnol and Golra.
Meanwhile, the capital administration and police removed the road blockades from Faizabad and around Red Zone. Containers put on roads were removed and placed along the roadsides and areas adjacent to roads.
