Ex-naval chief dies

ISLAMABAD: Former naval chief and chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Admiral Fasih Bokhari died in Islamabad on Tuesday.

He had joined the Navy in 1962 and served as the naval chief from 1997 to 1999.

According to a handout, Naval chief Admiral Mohammad Amjad Khan Niazi expressed heartfelt condolence on the demise of Mr Bokhari.

He appreciated the services rendered by the former chief.

Meanwhile, Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa also expressed condolence on the demise of Mr Bokhari.

“General Qamar Javed Bajwa expresses heartfelt condolences on the sad demise of former Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Fasih Bokhari (retired). May Allah bless his soul and give strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss,” he was quoted by the ISPR in a tweet.
