SWABI: A student of a private school was killed and 19 others were injured when a school bus and a pick-up van collided on the Swabi-Jehangira Road in Shahmansoor village here on Wednesday, the police said.

Five critically injured students were admitted to the intensive care unit and the patients with minor injuries had been discharged after treatment, said Prof Fasseh-uz-Zaman, chief executive of the Bacha Khan Hospital Complex, Shahmansoor.

A Rescue 1122 team reached the spot and shifted the students to hospital.

After knowing about the accident, parents also reached the hospital.
