Plastic bottles can be of great use only if we reuse them in a creative way. So let’s not throw these bottles and create something amazing again!
Today’s craft is about making a ball game inside the plastic bottle. It sounds easy, but kids, it’s not as simple as you think. The game will literally keep you hooked to it as you crave to successfully insert all the balls or marbles inside. So let’s begin!
Things you need:
One empty plastic bottle (you can use any large soft drink or water bottle)
Paper cutter or scissors
Hot glue
A piece of hardboard
Duct tape or wide transparent tape
Coloured paper (any colour)
Marbles or small balls
Directions:
Apply tape on the upper part of the plastic bottle, leaving just one inch from the curved or rounded part, picture 2.
Cut this part out, picture 3.
Now you have bottle in two parts, the top and the bottom, put the bottom part aside and cut two inches again from the top part, see picture 4 and 5.
The top part that is the bottle neck or the mouth side, will go inside the bottom part, see picture 6. (Both parts of the bottle have to align with each other)
Insert marbles or small balls from the top, (you will see the marbles to pass through the bottle neck and drop in the wider bottom of the bottle), pictures 7 and 8.
Cut the hardboard piece according to the diameter of the bottle and cover the opening from where you inserted the marbles, picture 9 and 10.
Paste any coloured paper on this lid and then secure it by pasting tape all around it, picture 11 and 12.
You can decorate it with ribbons, bows, beads, etc., picture 13.
Turn the bottle upside down, all the balls or marbles will rest around the bottle neck.
The game starts now, shake the bottle and see how many marbles you are able to insert inside the bottle neck, see picture 14.
Enjoy your DIY game as schools once again return to full-time online lessons and you get to spend more time at home.
