MANSEHRA: The police arrested a man here on Wednesday for defrauding people by impersonating a military officer.

Sub-inspector of the City Police Station Nawaz Khan told reporters here that Mohammad Ahtsham was held for depriving the people of money and threatening those, who didn’t meet his demands.

He said the fraudster introduced himself as Major Bilal but couldn’t prove his identity.

The official said the Pakistan Army’s fake identity card, a wireless set and a car with revolving lights on rooftop were recovered from the man, who belonged to Shergar area in Oghi tehsil and lived in Abbottabad.

He said the impersonator was a habitual criminal, who remained in the custody of Abbottabad police in many fraud cases.
