The Boss Baby: Family Business is definitely something
Dreamworks Animation’s The Boss Baby: Family Business, is due out on March 26, 2021. Its story looks even more outlandish than the last one: there’s a new pseudo-baby, an evil tyrant, a dash of time travel, an obligatory reference to “boomers,” and ninjas.
The Templeton brothers — Tim and his Boss Baby little bro Ted — have become adults and drifted away from each other. Tim is now a married stay-at-home dad. Ted is a hedge fund CEO. But a new boss baby with a cutting-edge approach and a can-do attitude is about to bring them together again … and inspire a new family business.
Based on a children’s book by Marla Frazee, the original film went on to gross $528 million worldwide and pick up an Oscar nomination, to the surprise of some.
Upcoming live action/CGI hybrid Pink Panther movie
MGM is looking to bring back the classic animated character Pink Panther in a big way. Chris Bremner will write MGM’s modern reimagining, with Lawrence Mirisch, Julie Andrews Edwards of Geoffrey Productions, Rideback’s Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich producing. Walter Mirisch and Rideback’s Ryan Halprin will executive produce.
The film was one of the biggest hits of 2020 and Paramount has already put a sequel in development.
The Pink Panther is MGM’s longest and most successful comedy franchise, created by writer-director Blake Edwards, Julie Andrews Edwards’ late husband, in partnership with producer Walter Mirisch.
In 1964, The Mirisch Company produced Blake Edwards’ The Pink Panther, starring Peter Sellers as a bumbling French detective. The film also introduced the world to Henry Mancini’s memorable “Pink Panther” theme, which was nominated for an Academy Award.
A Tom and Jerry movie in 2021
Tom and Jerry have been trying to kill each other for 80 years — and now, they’ll continue that tradition in a new movie scheduled for release in theatres in 2021.
A hybrid live-action and animated film will see the two square off in an upscale New York hotel.
Per the trailer, conniving mouse Jerry has taken up residence in the moulding, and eager-to-please employee Chloë Grace Moretz is charged with evicting him. Tom arrives to help terrorise the mouse out of this house.
But as anyone who’s seen any iteration of Tom and Jerry knows, the cat rarely wins. Michael Peña, Colin Jost and Ken Jeong co-star with the Hanna-Barbera characters. Cartoon violence ensues.
The film is scheduled for a March theatrical release.
