ISLAMABAD: Maintaining his supremacy, top seed Tayyab Aslam outclassed Israr Ahmed to move into the final of Pakistan International Squash Tournament here at the Mushaf Squash Complex here on Thursday.

Tayyab needed just 25 minutes to brush aside Israr in straight games of their boys’ semi-final clash, winning 11-4, 11-7, 11-5 while setting up the title-decider against Nasir Iqbal, who ougunned Amaad Fareed 11-4, 11-7, 11-7 in only 20 minutes.

Meanwhile in the girls’ competition, seventh seed Madina Zafar cause a major upset by defeating top seed Amna Fayyaz in a five-game semi-final after being two games down.

Madina won the 44-minute battle with a scoreline of 10-12, 3-11, 11-9, 11-5, 11-4 while surprising Amna with her speed and powerful strokes to enter the final against elder sister Faiza Zafar.

Faiza won her semi-final against Moqaddas Ashraf with consummate ease in straight games 11-8, 11-5, 11-4 in their their 18-minute encounter.
