KASUR: A woman along with her three minor children was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a room of their mud house here on Saturday on Sahari Road near Nizampura village in Sheikhum police precincts.

According to police, [expectant] Aasia Bibi and her three children – Iqra Bibi, 7, Afzal, 5, and Tayyab, 2, – were found dead in their cell situated at the brick kiln where she was working. Muhammad Tanvir, husband of Aasia, was rushed to DHQ Hospital and was later referred to Lahore General Hospital due to his critical situation.

Police suspected that the deaths occurred due to toxic food intake and they did not know from where the family got edibles.

Nazir Ahmed, brother of Tanvir, got a murder case lodged with Sheikhum police against unidentified suspect(s), alleging that his sister-in-law (wife of brother) and three of her children were poisoned.

Further investigation is underway.
