ISLAMABAD: A woman was killed and another injured after both fell from a hotel building in the capital.
According to the police, the incident took place in Bahria Town. Four people – two men and two women – from Gujrat had come to the hotel last evening and asked for a specific suite. The suite located on the fifth floor was given to them, the police said, adding that the next morning, the women fell from the room’s balcony one after the other.
The security guards saw them falling and informed the hotel staff who rushed to the scene where they found one of the women dead and the other critically injured. The police said shortly after their male companions were spotted trying to leave the hotel.
When they were asked to stay, they refused and put up resistance, the police said, adding that one of the guards warned them, but they once again tried to escape. The guard then shot one of the men on the leg and informed the police who reached the hotel and took them into custody.
Both the injured – woman and man – as well as the deceased were shifted to the hospital. Lohi Bher police said preliminary investigation revealed that both women were sisters. The older sister who had died was married and had a child. The police also recovered some contraband from the suite.
The police said the women were thrown out from the balcony by their companions following a harsh argument over some issue.
