ISLAMABAD: On the opening day of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed National Tennis Championship, brothers Muzammil Murtaza and Mudassir Murtaza registered easy victories here at Islamabad Tennis Complex on Monday.

The 6th edition of BB Shaheed championship was inaugurated by Senator Taj Haider. Over 200 players are participating in various categories in the championship which will conclude on Dec 19.

In men’s singles, second seed Muzammil Murtaza comfortably defeated Maj Murtaza Hassan in straight two games 6-3,6-0. While his elder brother Mudassir outplayed his opponent Maj Suleman in 6-0,6-0.

Top ranked national player Aqeel Khan is the top seed of the championship and he will be seen in action on Tuesday (today). On the opening day, matches in men singles, boys U-18, boys U-14, and U-12 were played.
