KOHAT: The district development advisory committee, Hangu, chairman Shah Faisal has said projects worth over Rs218 million have been approved for the PK-83 constituency in the Annual Development Programme.
He said tenders had also been floated for the projects. He said the projects included repair and construction of roads and pavement of streets.
He said pavement of streets and construction of drains in Togh Sarai, Samana, Jozara, and blacktopping of a road in Tora Warai would cost Rs44.109 million.
Mr Faisal said construction and repair of roads in Kahi, Khalifa Banda, Sokari and Shah Koroona would cost Rs48.835. Similarly, Rs33.942 million have been allocated for rehabilitation of Samana, Wrasta Kalay roads, railway road, and drains up to Tableeghi Markaz and Thall road.
He said the committee had also sanctioned Rs19.793 million for repair of Regi-Darsamand, Walayat Shah, KhairKalay Masjid and Mir Sahib Masjid roads. Likewise, Rs25.893 million would be spent on pavement of streets, roads and drains in Qareem Banda Qasim Banda, Khadar Khel, Gulshanabad, Tora Warai, Zargari and Naryab. He said Rs30 million would be spent on rehabilitation of roads in Karbogha Sharif, Darshi village and Khatringh Sharif.
An amount of Rs16.399 has been set aside for rehabilitation of Tora Ghundi and Shah Masjid roads.
JIRGA SYSTEM: A jirga from Dara Adamkhel tribal subdivision of Kohat, Khyber and Orakzai districts has announced to soon start a membership campaign to strengthen the traditional dispute solving mechanism for the sake of peace and region’s development.
The decision was taken at a meeting of Istehkam-i-Pakistan Tehreek in Jawaki area of Darra, which was largely attended by elders and tribal maliks.
Speaking on the occasion, the Tehreek’s chairman Haji Mohammad Wasil, Malik Irshad Afridi and others said it was time to establish a relationship of respect between the institutions and the citizens, wipe out corruption from the society and bring durable peace to the country.
