SHEIKHUPURA: A suckling was killed by his maternal uncle for ‘making a noise’ here on Saturday at Ghunian Ghazi village in the limits of Khanqah Dogran police station.

Reports said Allah Mafi after quarrelling with her husband had started living with her brother Imran. Her infant son, according to police, used to weep during night. On Friday night, when the 20-day-old child started crying, Imran struck his head against the wall. The child was rushed to hospital where the doctors declared him dead.

Khanqa Dogran police have registered a case against Imran on the complaint of Allah Mafi and started investigation with no arrest so far.

CYLINDER BLAST: As many as 24 people, including nine family members, suffered injuries in a cylinder blast here on Saturday in Mai Da Dera locality near Mannooabad in Muridke Saddar police precincts.

Reports said a number of relatives of Mushtaq had visited his house to condole the death of his mother. The host, Mushtaq, had lit the LPG cylinder which exploded, causing injuries to 24 people. Nine of the injured, including Mushtaq, Dildar, Hanif, Saeed and Pervaiz, were shifted to Lahore. Further investigation is underway.
