KARACHI: Bahria Club and Askari Alphas displayed brilliant game in the semis against their respective rivals to enter the final of the 5th Essa Lab Basketball tournament here at the Arambagh-Abdul Nasir courts on Sunday.

In the first semifinal, Bahria Club edged past One Unit Club in, winning 46-41 in a thrilling contest. The leading scorers for Bahria were Bilal Khan (15 pts), Adeel Khan (13 pts) and Zunair Ali (11 pts).

For the runner-up, Talal Ahmed (14 pts), Ali Naqvi (10 pts) and Faizan Khan (10 pts) were the outstanding performers.

In the second semifinal, Askari Alphas beat Omega Club in the match of the tournament, winning 84-79. Anas Usman (41 pts) was in the form of his life and scored three pointers to lead the winners’ campaign. He was well assisted by Saifullah Nausherwani (22 pts) and Aisam Talha (13 pts).

For the runner-up side, a fantastic performance was given by Taimur Zaheer (35 pts) who was unstoppable on the court.

He was ably supported by Abbas Abid (20 pts) and Mashood Abbas (18 pts).

Mohammad Saleem Khamisani was the chief guest in the semifinals and was introduced to the players by KBBA chief Ghulam Mohammad.
