Dubai to begin inoculations with Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine from today

Dubai will start inoculating people with the Covid-19 vaccine produced by Pfizer and BioNTech for free from Wednesday, the emirate’s government said, joining Saudi Arabia which last week became the first Arab country to begin using this vaccine.
The move comes after the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain earlier this month rolled out a vaccine developed by China National Pharmaceutical Group, Sinopharm, to the general public.
The UAE was the first country to roll out the Chinese vaccines for its population, saying earlier this month it has 86 per cent efficacy, citing an interim analysis of late-stage clinical trials.
Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management said in a statement on Twitter late on Tuesday an “extensive vaccination campaign” against Covid-19 kicks off in Dubai on Wednesday, using Pfizer-BioNTech’s vaccine and is free of charge.
Qatar has also granted emergency use authorisation for the Covid-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech, while fellow Gulf Arab state Oman will receive its first Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine shipment on Wednesday.
Kuwait has said it expects to start receiving the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine before the end of the year.
The UAE has recorded 195,878 coronavirus cases and 642 deaths so far from the virus.

Moderna is most potent then Pfizer followed by AstraZeneca.
Pfizer most expensive to buy store and distribute then moderna then AstraZeneca. First two are mRNA based to faster to manufacture but difficult to maintain while AstraZeneca is based on kind of weaker virus and need two doses to reach 90% efficacy.
Choice is yours life is yours you have to spend.

If the visas of Pakistanis were stopped due to Chinese virus concerns then after the vaccinations, they should be opened by UAE. If not then we would know the reason was not Chinese virus as excused by the FO.

No doubt, locals will be first in line.
While the imports from rest of the world, especially nurses from the Phillippines, Sri Lanka, India or other Third Wold nations - the first line workers, essential to keep the patients alive and care for them, will be lumped together as ''foreigners' who will be last to receive it.
This is how heartless these Arabs are!

Surely, it seems all Pakistanis are learning to be great beggars from their King Niazi. Now it has become such that begging is no shame and if a nation does not give then it is criticised and their rulers maligned. And when alms are received the government and people are so proud and so ungrateful that they do not even thank the other country, on the contrary scheme against them only.

I live in Abu Dhabi and the vaccine is a available for free to everyone regardless of nationality. The process is simple and facilities are great. Hats off to the authorities for the excellent management.

UAE is a rich Emirates. They are spendings on space programs, expensive palaces, yachts, the tall expensive buildings, hotels, no big deal even if they stands vacant or haunted. They can buy branded vaccines. Now it’s high time to produce its own vaccines, and offer at affordable prices to developing nations. The local pharmaceutical manufacturers in Pakistan are performing best, they all are members of PPMA ( Pak Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association) They must gather money thru pool & do it
