LAHORE: Dar Academy and Sargodha’s Fayyaz Academy won their respective matches on the opening day of the U-17 Inter-academy Hockey Tournament here at the National Hockey Stadium on Wednesday.

Back-to-back goals within a span of two minutes by Shahbaz Ahmed helped hosts Dar Academy make a winning start as they edged out Tahir Zaman Academy 3-2.

Meanwhile, two goals in one-minute duration by Fayyaz Academy steered them to a 3-1 victory against renowned Aslam Rodha Academy of Gojra.

The final will be held on Saturday.
