Case against 35 suspects for attacking police

OKARA: Up to 35 people, of them 27 are nominated, were booked in a case for manhandling the police and snatching cash and mobile phones from them when the officials raided a cockerel fight scene on Friday.

As reads a first information report got registered by Assistant Sub-Inspector Zafar Iqbal, the Dipalpur Saddar patrolling police on a tip off rushed to the Abadi Joyianwali where dozens of people were watching a cockerels’ fight.

When the police arrived at the scene, dozens of people, including murder suspects Abdullah and Abdur Rahim, pelt the police with stones and snatched mobile phones and cash from constables Aslam and Salamat Ali and torn off the uniform of constable Tehsin Javid.

Reinforcements from the Dipalpur Saddar arrived at the scene but the suspects fled leaving behind eight motorcycles at the scene.

Officials were attacked when they raided cockeral fight scene

The police with the help of village chowkidar identified the suspects, including Fateh Muhammad, Amjad, Naeem, Sarwar, Razzaq, Saleem, Mushtaq, Rukhsana, Zainab, Amna, Fajjan, Maqbool Bibi, Ayesha and Noor Bibi besides 15 unidentified accomplices.

The police impounded eight motorcycles.

ACCIDENT: A man was killed while another suffered multiple injuries on Friday on GT Road in a car-trailor collision.

The deceased was identified as Mustafa from Khanqa Dogran.
