Sheikhupura dismissed for 268

LAHORE, Jan 20: Abdul Rauf and Test reject Mushtaq Ahmed shared seven wickets between them to help Rest of Punjab (RoP) bowl out Sheikhupura for 268 on first day of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy match at the Gaddafi Stadium Sunday.

By the close of play, RoP had reached 55 for no loss off 16 overs. Saeed Anwer Junior (21) and Rizwan Ahmed (27) will resume the RoP innings on Monday.

Rauf conceded 51 runs for his four wickets while Mushtaq finished with three for 84.

After Sheikhupura slumped to 122 for eight, Jaffar Nazir scored a fine 64 off 53 balls with the help of 10 boundaries and one six, Mumtaz Ali contributed 57 off 84 balls with six fours and one six and Rana Naveedul Hasan stroked a 35-ball 33 to help their team reach a respectable position.

Jaffar and Mumtaz put on 99 runs for the ninth wicket.
