QUETTA: The Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), which is an ally of the federal government, has expressed reservations over not getting representation in federal and Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP) governments despite extending full support to Imran Khan-led federal government.

Senators, MNAs, provincial ministers and senior leaders of the party during a meeting presided over by BAP President Jam Kamal Khan Alyani expressed anger over getting less representation in the federal cabinet.

The BAP has nine Senators, including Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, and five members in the National Assembly.

Sources said the meeting discussed upcoming Senate elections and by-election on a Senate seat vacated due to the death of Senator Kalsoom Praveen and the Balochistan Assembly seat from Pishin that fell vacant after the death of Syed Fazal Agha of the JUI-F.

The meeting observed that PTI members had been given a sizable representation in the Balochistan cabinet, but the BAP did not get its due share in federal and KP cabinets.

The PTI has inducted only Zubaida Jalal from BAP in the federal cabinet.

The sources said that Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan assured the meeting that he would convey his party’s reservations to Prime Minister Imran Khan.
