TANK: Pakistan Democratic Movement president Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said the government has launched a malicious propaganda campaign against him after getting frustrated with the rising popularity of PDM.

Talking to media persons at the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl district secretariat here on Monday, Mr Rehman denied receiving any notice from NAB, saying: “The federal ministers are busy in his character assassination by spreading fake news”.

He denounced the charges leveled against him by federal minister Ali Amin Gandapur, saying Gandapur and other ministers could not prove a single claim made by them.

“If any one has any proof about my properties as claimed by Ali Gandapur, he must make it public so everyone knows the truth,” said the Maulana.

He maintained that Prime Minister Imran Khan won’t be able to conduct by-polls if the lawmakers of PDM-associated parties tendered resignations.

The PDM chief said there was no chance of split in JUI-F as the party was united. It made no difference if three or four persons left the party, he added.
