KARACHI: Captain of victorious Youth Hockey Club receives the winners trophy from chief guest Mohammed Hanif Gohar on Sunday.

KARACHI: Haris Nasir scored a brilliant hat-trick as Youth Hockey Club trounced Karachi Blue 8-0 in an exhibition match played to commemorate the Quaid-eAzam birth anniversary on Sunday here at the KHA Complex.

Hammad Ayaz and Sultan Mehmood also netted two goals each in the onee-sided match which was completely dominated by Youth Hockey Club.

In the women’s exhibition match, Fatima Jinnah X1 defeated Begum Rana Liaqat Ali Khan XI 4-3 on penalty shootout after both teams were tied 1-1 in the regulation time. Maheen Ali scored for Fatima Jinnah XI while Sehar Afshan netted for Begum Rana Liaqat Ali Khan XI.

Earlier, one minute silence was offered for the late KHA patron in chief Vice Admiral (R) Arifullah Hussaini who passed awaylast week.

SVP of FPCCI Mohammed Hanif Gohar was the chief guest on the occasion and who gave away trophies and special cash prizes to Hammad Ayaz and Shazma Naseem. Earlier, Olympian Hanif Khan announced that M Hanif Gohar and former Karachi Captain Mustafa Jamil will be the president and secretary respectively of the newly formed Youth Hockey Club. Olympian Samiullah Khan and Olympian Hanif Khan are the patrons of the club.
