KARACHI: Omega Club and Askari Club beat their respective rivals in the semifinals to qualify for the final of Quaid-e-Azam SSB Cup 303 basketball tournament being played at Arambagh courts and Malir Cantt courts on Tuesday.

In the first semi-final at Malir Cantt, Omega Club beat KBBC 24-20 in a thriller. Abbas Qaimkhani, Ali Chanzeb, Anas Azhar displayed fantastic skills in a close game.

In the other semi-final played at Arambagh Club, Askari Club edged past Neighbourhood Penzers in an evenly-contested fixture. Syed Bakhtiar, Kenneth Johnson and Saad Khan played superbly in the match.

Ex-Olympiand and Pakistan hockey’ most successful captain Islahuddin Siddiqui was chief guest on the occasion. Islah­uddin also appreciated Sports Secretary Sindh Imtiaz Ali Shah and KBBA chief Ghulam Mohammad for their services and efforts for promotion of sports.
