KARACHI: Five horses are in line to battle it out for honours in the New Year Cup when it takes place during the winter Gym­khana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

The New Year Cup is a regular feature of the KRC and held on the first day of races every year.

Former hat-trick performer of the Quaid-e-Azam Gold Cup Big Bravo who has failed to live up to his mark in the recent outings, is expected to make amends in the New Year Cup.

The New Year Cup is the fifth race of day’s programme and will go over six furlongs.

Meanwhile, a six-race card has been drawn for the day with as many as 48 horses in fray.

Mare from Lahore Madiha will make her debut on Sunday.

The first race starts at 1.30pm.
