TAXILA: Two persons died in separate incidents in various parts of Attock on Sunday.

According to police and hospital sources, incidents were reported from the jurisdictions of Pindigheb and Fatehjang police stations.

A 34-year-old man, identified as Tanveer Haider, died while four others received injuries when a Rawalpindi-bound van caught fire due to a short circuit near Khorr Chowk. One of the injured, Sadeequllah, was shifted to Rawalpindi due to his critical condition.

In another incident, the body of a 70-year-old trader was found in a suitcase near Galli Jegair. Police said the victim, Zaiday Khan, had gone missing in Fatehjang and a report was lodged with local police.

A passerby spotted the victim on Sunday and informed the police who shifted it to THQ Hospital for autopsy. The man seemed to have been tortured to death.

Respective police registered two separate cases and started further investigation.
