RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) has been divided into three divisions: regulatory, airport & operations and support functions to make the organisation more robust to ensure safe and secure civil aviation affairs in the country.
The PCAA director general has issued a notification which says that the objective of the functional separation of the authority is to ensure micro-level management with focus on each function in pursuance of the vision and mission of the authority.
According to revised organisational structure which will be implemented immediately, two posts of additional directors general have been created.
One additional director general will be heading the regulatory division while the other will be heading airports and operations division.
As per organisational structure, the PCAA board’s chairman will be secretary of the aviation division.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki on Wednesday called on Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan.
The Saudi ambassador appreciated measures taken by Pakistan to stop the spread of Covid-19 in the country and assured the minister of restoring Umra flights as soon as the virus situation became normal.
