GUJRAT: The local administration on Thursday sealed a brick kiln and a restaurant in the city for violating the regulations and imposed fine on at least six outlets of garments, cloth and food for breach of pandemic protocol.
Gujrat Assistant Commissioner Suleman Zafar Dhothar on Thursday inspected at least four brick kilns along Shadiwal Road.
However, one of the kilns, was being run without zigzag technology in violation of the government’s ban on running kilns without shifting to the latest technology.
The AC immediately sealed the kiln whereas the owner was arrested by the police after registration of a case against him.
Meanwhile, the AC along with his team paid surprise visit to Hassan Chowk and Pakistan Chowk to examine the implementation of corona SOPs. Customers were being served with meal inside the Silver Gril restaurant besides violations of other SOPs upon which he had sealed the eatery.
The AC also imposed a fine of Rs15,000 to city’s major cloth merchant in the same vicinity whereas two garment shops, one shoes shop and another restaurant was also fined and issued warnings.
The team also inspected the availability of plastic shopping bags at the commercial centres since such bags had already been banned by the administration a couple of weeks ago. A large number of plastic bags were confiscated.
