KARAK: The workers of ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf have criticised their party’s MNA Shahid Khan Khattak for what they call ignoring the backward areas of the district.

The allegations were levelled against the lawmaker in a meeting of PTI workers held here on Thursday with Malik Ishaq in the chair. The meeting was attended by a large number of PTI workers.

The participants of the meeting alleged that the MNA was interested in the uplift of the already developed areas of the district. They alleged that the lawmaker was following the advice of few influential individuals of the party and was ignoring the ideological workers.

They said that it was sole right of the people of Banda Daud Shah tehsil and some parts of Karak tehsil to get oil and gas production bonus funds but its major share was being spent in other parts of the district.

They said that they would not sit silent anymore and would not let anyone to usurp the rights of the workers. They said that the workers should be consulted about the party affairs.

The participants of the meeting said that the workers should be given a say in the uplift projects being carried out in the district. They said that the demands of workers should be resolved on priority basis. The workers decided that they would boycott the political activities of the lawmaker till their grievances were not heard by him.

KILLED: Two persons were killed and two others received injuries in different incidents in the district.

Police said that bullet-riddled body of a young man was found in Zaragandi area of union council Latamber. The victim was identified as Ziauddin, 30. After autopsy and identification, the body was handed over to his relatives.

Meanwhile, Umair was killed and his brother Mohammad Zubair was injured in a firing incident in Algaddi area of Jandri union council. Police registered FIR against Khursheed Alam and his brother Jan Alam.
