DERA MURAD JAMALI: Leaders of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) on Sunday vowed to continue their struggle till the ouster of the Imran Khan-led government as it had ‘destroyed’ the country economically and plunged it into a disaster.
They marched on the main roads and the National Highway, carrying the flags of their parties, placards and banners inscribed with anti-government slogans.
Those who took part in the rally, among others, were the PDM’s provincial President Maulana Abdul Wasey, President of the Pakistan Peoples Party’s Balochistan chapter, Mir Ali Madad Jattak, Senior Vice President of the Balochistan National Party-Mengal Malik Abdul Wali Kakar, Mir Sadiq Umrani, provincial President of the National Party Abdul Khaliq Baloch, provincial President of the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal and President of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan Maulana Owais Noorani.
Speaking to participants of the rally, the PDM leaders criticised the government and its policies and said that present rulers who had promised to bring a change in the country were giving corpses to the people of Balochistan.
They said that billions of rupees were being spent in the name of restoring peace, but everybody could witness the worst law and order situation in Balochistan.
“It is a matter of shame for the rulers who always take the name of the state of Madina but force the people to starve,” they said.
The PDM leaders said that today’s public meeting was a slap in the face of selected rulers whom the people of Nasirabad had rejected because they faced skyrocketing price hike, while sugar, flour and other edible items were not available in the market.
“We will never surrender and give up our struggle launched across the country for upholding the Constitution, rule of law, supremacy of parliament, democracy and rights of the people of the country,” the speakers said, adding that the people wanted justice but the government was depriving the poor people of justice.
They said that the lives of the people had become difficult due to high inflation and wrong economic policies of the government. “The people were being deprived of their livelihood by making false promises of employment and providing houses to the people,” Maulana Wasey said, adding that the Pakistan International Airlines was destroyed, while the Steel Mills was closed.
The Provincial President of JUP Maulana Abbas Qadri, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam’s Provincial General Secretary A. Mahmood Shah, Mir Nizamuddin Lehri and PPP Nasirabad President Mir Bilal Khan Umrani also spoke on the occasion.
