NORTH WAZIRISTAN: Two soldiers were martyred and three others wounded in a terrorist attack on a security check-post in the Speenwam area of North Waziristan tribal district on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday.

Officials said the terrorists had attacked the check-post with heavy weapons, leading to an exchange of fire between them and security forces.

In the shootout, Huzaifullah and Ziaul Islam embraced martyrdom and Naik Sayed Alam, Lance Naik Mustaez and soldier Asad received injuries.

The wounded soldiers were shifted to the tehsil headquarters hospital in Mirali, where they were said to be in a stable condition.

Officials said that a search operation had been launched in the area to track down the attackers.

On Monday night, terrorists had attacked another security post in the area in which one soldier was martyred and two others suffered injuries.
