The event is being managed by the Hindu Kush Snow Sports Club with the financial assistance of tourism department. The first such event was held here last year.

The club president, Shahzada Hisham, told this correspondent that the valley had received over four feet of snow till now which provided an ideal turf for the snow-specific games. He said that preparations had been started for holding the event in a befitting manner.

He said the venue was situated at a drive of three hours from the Chitral-Peshawar road. He said that the local residents were good at skiing and skating.

Shahzada Hisham said that the snow sports were not new to the people of Madak Lusht as they had been playing local versions of the sport since the olden days. He said that with a little effort they were trained in different snow sports in vogue in other countries.
