TAXILA: Pindigheb police on Tuesday busted a four-member gang of robbers and recovered stolen items worth Rs4.73 million from their possession along with weapons utilised during several robberies.

A police spokesman said the gang on June 23, 2020, broke into Naseer Ahmed’s residence and escaped with cash Rs6.12 million. The suspects were traced and arrested, however.

During interrogation, they confessed their crime. An amount of Rs4.73 million was recovered from their possession besides weapons.

Meanwhile, health authorities in a crackdown against quacks and medical stores wherein the Punjab Healthcare Commission Act 2010 was being violated sealed a medical store and issued warnings to two others.

The store was sealed for allegedly selling substandard and expired medicines. Samples of the medicines were sent to the District Quality Control Board for further examination so legal action could be initiated.
